Volunteer Requirement Record Sheet
As St. Louis School, we pride ourselves on a strong community environment made up of the administration, teachers, parents and students. Each component is critical in making our children’s academic, social and spiritual experience a success. As such, a strong parent presence and volunteer involvement is critical.
Therefore, a new volunteer requirement will be implemented for the 2012-2013 school year. Each two-parent family will be required to obtain 18 hours and single parent families will be required to obtain 9 hours. We have lowered the requirement for hours and strongly encourage each family to volunteer at the school. The attached page gives families ideas for volunteer involvement this school year.
As in previous years, a family can choose to opt out of volunteer hours at the beginning of the school year at a cost of $360 for two-parent families and $180 for single parent families. Please send a check made payable to St. Louis PTO by September 1, 2012. Please note if a family fails to meet the volunteer hour requirement by the end of the school year, that family will be required to pay the school a penalty fee of $400 for two-parent families, $200 for single parent families. If a family completes some, but not all hours, the fee will be pro-rated based on the hours completed.
We really want the 2012-2013 school year to be a successful one. Heavy parent involvement will ensure that success. Unfortunately this year if we do not have the required number of volunteers for each activity, the PTO and school may be forced to cancel a particular activity.

Room Parent Volunteers Needed
Are you interested in helping your child's teacher by being a room parent? This is a position that is very needed and appreciated. Typically each class has more than one room parent. As a room parent you will share responsibilities such as planning celebrations, getting volunteers to attend these celebrations and aiding the teacher with other classroom activities.

The more parent volunteers we have, the earlier we can divide the students into doubles teams and get them playing! The only commitment required is practice one early evening a week in September & October.
