Band
Playing a band instrument is great fun for students, and it also teaches many lessons about hard work, dedication and persistence, creativity, and working as a team. Families are welcome to take advantage of this chance to participate in a great music program, which is available to 4th-8th Grade students.
The band program at St. Louis School is part of the Garwood Whaley Music Program, which is the instrumental music program for the schools in the Diocese of Arlington. Instruction is given in the following instruments:
- flute
- clarinet
- alto saxophone
- trumpet
- French horn
- trombone
- baritone
- percussion
Students receive half-hour lessons during the school day. Band is scheduled at a different time each week so that students can keep track academically. For students who have progressed beyond the beginner level, there is after-school band practice.
All instructional fees are paid directly to the Garwood Whaley Music Program.
*Students who participate in the Band program, may not simultaneously enroll in the Strings program, and vice versa.
