Extended Daycare (EDC)
The St. Louis School Extended Day Care program (EDC) is a before and after school care program licensed in the State of Virginia and approved by the Office of Education in the Catholic Diocese of Arlington. The Extended Day Program provides a safe and enjoyable environment for K-8 students beyond the hours of the normal school day. Our morning EDC program runs from 6:30am-7:30am, and our afternoon program runs from the end of the school day until 6:00pm unless indicated otherwise.
The program provides high quality before and after school childcare in a loving and safe and Christian environment. The EDC administrators and dedicated staff members run the program. The students participate in a variety of activities including: outdoor and indoor games, arts and crafts, homework time, quiet time for reading, movies and holiday celebrations. Afternoon snack is provided by the program with a snack calendar posted monthly.
All school policies as outlined in the Parent-Student Handbook apply to Extended Day.
2024-2025 EDC REGISTRATION
Extended Day services are available for students in Kindergarten through 8th Grade. Payments for the Extended Day Program use are made through the FACTS tuition management system.
The 2024-2025 EDC Registration Packet below must be submitted for each child to be registered in the EDC program.
Child Care Aware of America
St. Louis EDC is an approved provider in the Operation Military Child Care (OMCC) Program. Military families may qualify for financial assistance through the Child Care Aware of America Military Fee Assistance program. For more information, please visit Child Care Aware.

* EDC is not open on all 11:30am dismissal days. Please refer to the school calendar, or call EDC during operation hours for confirmation.
* St. Louis School follows Fairfax County for school closings and delays due to inclement weather. If school opens two hours late, so will EDC. For more information, please refer to the inclement weather guidelines in the EDC section of the handbook.
